Psalms of Gratitude

Psalm 118:19

Open for me the gates of the righteous;

I will enter and give thanks to the Lord.

 

Psalm 34:1-3

I will extol the Lord at all times;

His praise will always be on my lips.

I will glory in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.

Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.

 

Psalm 138: 1-2

I thank you, Lord, with all my heart;

I sing praise to you before the gods.

I face your holy Temple, bow down, and praise your name

because of your constant love and faithfulness,

because you have shown that your name and your commands are supreme.

 

Psalm 7:17

I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness;

I will sing the name of the Lord Most High.

 

Psalm 71:5-6, 14

5 For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth. 6 From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother痴 womb. I will ever praise you. 14 As for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more.

Psalm 62:5-6

5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. 6 Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.

 

Psalm 33:18, 20-22

18 But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love. 20 We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. 21 In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. 22 May your unfailing love be with us, Lord, even as we put our hope in you.

Psalm 5:1-3

1 Listen to my words, Lord, consider my lament. 2 Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray. 3 In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.

 

The Book of Psalms helps us to trust and to leave despair looking to God with hope and confidence.
